This Restaurant L'Entrecôte concept is inspired by our family who loves meat on a famous Café de Paris sauce . Savour our own in-house sauce Café de Paris served with a beautiful piece of Entrecôte and our pommes allumettes . 🍽️✨The Café de Paris Sauce is a rich, flavorful butter-based sauce that pairs perfectly with grilled meat, especially entrecôte. Its history dates back to the 1940s when it originated at the Café de Paris in Geneva, Switzerland. The exact recipe of Café de Paris Sauce often remains a closely guarded secret , but generally, it includes a variety of herbs, spices, and ingredients such as garlic, onions, tarragon, thyme, rosemary, basil, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, cognac or brandy, along with butter as the main component. The precise proportions vary from restaurant to restaurant or chef, and some places keep their unique recipes under wraps. The sauce is traditionally served with entrecôte, a juicy and tender cut of beef from the rib area. The meat is typically grilled or roasted and served with the Café de Paris Sauce generously slathered over it.

Welcome. Locanda Villa d'Epoca is located at Ronchini di Aurigeno in Vallemaggia. We can be reached from Locarno in 15 minutes by car or by regular buses; the bus stop is adjacent to our entrance. Rooms: The Villa was built in 1896, completely renovated in 2000 and underwent further renovation during winter 2023/2024. As of March 1, 2024, the new manager is Elisabetta Martinoli, who has long experience in the restaurant business as she ran Grotto da Peo at Monti in Ronco s/Ascona for a decade and previously was active in various restaurants in Geneva for thirty years. The rooms were renovated in winter 2023/2024 and all have minibars, coffee and tea makers, bathrobes, and free wi-fi. Only one does not have a shower and toilet in the room but has it privately outside. Included in the price of the rooms is a buffet breakfast. Free parking is available for our guests. Restaurant: Locanda Villa d'Epoca offers local and home cooking where local or regional products are preferred. Depending on the season, different recipes are offered such as ravioli, gnocchi, risotto, rabbit, shin, braised meat, etc.. In autumn there is no shortage of fresh porcini mushrooms and game. The restaurant and garden lend themselves very well to family celebrations, ceremonies or a relaxing time after a day of work.
