The Solar Agency Switzerland (SAS) is an independent, non-profit organisation based in Zurich. Since its foundation in 1990, it has been consistently committed to promoting the use of renewable solar energy and energy-efficient architecture in Switzerland. Its main objective is to strengthen awareness, commitment and innovation in the field of solar energy - at an individual, corporate and institutional level. A central instrument of this promotion is the Swiss Solar Prize, which the SAS has awarded annually since 1991. The prize recognises pioneering PlusEnergyBuildings (PEB) as well as energy-efficient renovations of old buildings, technological innovations and committed individuals.
