What the capital city has in Bärenplatz, Aarberg has in its "Stedtli." Restaurants line the town square, and with the long-running "Stars of Sounds" festival, the small town even has its own open-air event. Gastronomy and music are also the focus at the "Hirschen." After standing empty for a long time, the restaurant was recently reopened as a "cult bistro" with seven hotel rooms.
As a boutique hotel, the Hirschen focuses on individual room furnishings. Music fans will particularly love room 4. Here, snare drums serve as bedside tables, a bass drum as a bistro table, and the autographs of Büne Huber and other musicians adorn the wall above the bed. Managing director Ema Baptista also has rhythm in her blood. Born in Portugal, she comes from a family of professional musicians and was the lead singer of a rock band in her younger years. Since then, she has gained a wealth of experience in the hotel industry and learned her profession on the job: "I am a hostess by conviction. A familiar, warm atmosphere is very important to me." ...
