Dr. med. Frank Vonmoos

After several years working as a general practitioner and family doctor, I sought a challenge in a specialist field of medicine that, in addition to consulting hours and valuable contact with people, also included surgical work. Ophthalmology combines these different elements very well. On the one hand, ophthalmologists can explain most of their patients' visual impairments and complaints using simple tests and provide relief with straightforward measures. On the other hand, the enormous technical advances of recent years have opened up numerous possibilities for better treating patients with serious eye conditions. I find it extremely satisfying to be able to help patients improve their symptoms through competent diagnosis, consultation, and therapy, and, if necessary, surgery.

Here at the Eye Center, I appreciate the young and open-minded team, which creates excellent conditions for my work as an ophthalmologist.

The city of Basel offers me and my family a very high quality of life. We enjoy the contemporary and forward-looking pulse of this city, the cosmopolitan flair of its people, and the wide range of opportunities in the cultural, educational, and professional spheres.
