PD Dr. med. Pascal Hasler

After almost a quarter of a century of experience in ophthalmology, mainly at university eye clinics in Switzerland (Basel and Bern) and Denmark, I remain fascinated by the specialist field of ophthalmology and am delighted that I have been able to turn this fascination into my profession. Eye surgery, which I have been practicing since 2003 and in which I have now trained many ophthalmologists, is a particular passion of mine. In addition to surgery, I also find the medical advances in ophthalmology with new diagnostic procedures and treatment methods exciting, which gives me the satisfying feeling that time never stands still.

I was born and raised in French-speaking Switzerland and studied medicine in Basel. With its proximity to France and Germany, its many museums, the Rhine, and its cosmopolitan atmosphere, Basel has a unique charm and has become the center of my life and that of my two children.

For me, working in a professional team that not only operates at the highest medical level and offers high quality in a modern infrastructure with optimal work processes, but also has good human qualities, is crucial. All of this can be found at the Eye and Surgery Center Basel, which is why I work here.

In addition to continuing my education in ophthalmology, I seek relaxation in nature, reading, listening to podcasts, and traveling to discover other countries and cultures together with my partner.
