Musikschule Region Gürbetal

The Gürbetal Region Music School is a cantonally recognized, innovative music school. Lessons for children from kindergarten age up to 20 (or 25 if in education) are largely funded by the canton and local authorities.

We offer high-quality lessons to children, young people, and adults. With numerous public concerts and events, we are an important pillar of cultural life in the region.

Around 60 teachers teach around 1,000 students at nine locations on a wide variety of instruments. The music school attaches great importance to contemporary teaching methods and promotes ensemble playing in a wide range of orchestras, bands, choirs, and ensembles.

The music school's headquarters are located in the beautiful Belp Castle.

You can find out everything that is going on at our school in our school bulletin'Intermezzo', which is published twice a year (March/September).

The municipalities of Belp, Kehrsatz, Toffen, Kaufdorf, Mühlethurnen, Seftigen, Wattenwil, Uttigen, Uetendorf, Riggisberg, Wald, and Gerzensee have signed a service agreement with the music school, making them members of the association and giving them a say in its strategic development. The passive members of the "Musikschule Region Gürbetal" association, known as "supporting members," use their contributions to support the scholarship fund and the events fund in particular.
