In most construction companies, working hours do not allow employees to take their children to or pick them up from school or daycare. Most construction companies do not take into account that employees may have to stay at home because their children are sick. But someone has to do this job, and it requires a lot of love and patience.
Unfortunately, this means that far too few mothers work in construction and have limited opportunities for professional development. It also means that fathers are unable to share the social responsibility for their children equally at home, and that fatherhood is reduced to bringing home the bacon.
