EMERGENCY appointments, same-day appointments. Pregnant women, babies, children, adults, athletes, seniors, etc.
Osteopathy is intended to be general. However, Vanessa Wanner Duarte regularly trains in the following areas:
· PEDIATRIC osteopathy (from newborns to older children, tongue ties, lip ties, regurgitation, colic, constipation, ENT and pulmonary disorders, crying, sleep disorders, flat head syndrome, cough, etc.)
· OBSTETRIC osteopathy (care for pregnant women and preparation of structures for childbirth, sciatica, lower back pain, sleep disorders, acidity, constipation, venous and lymphatic return, postnatal consultation, etc.)
· UROGYNECOLOGICAL osteopathy
· Osteopathy for athletes
· Osteopathy for chronic pain
WHAT CAN OSTEOPATHY TREAT? :
Osteopathy is effective in treating functional disorders (non-exhaustive list):
· Musculoskeletal system: low back pain, sciatica, upper back pain, neck pain, sprains, tendonitis, etc.
· Neurovegetative system: sleep disorders, anxiety, stress, migraines, headaches, etc .
· ENT system: ear infections, rhinitis, sinusitis, vertigo, tinnitus, etc.
· Cardiopulmonary system: bronchitis, circulatory disorders, hemorrhoids, etc.
· Digestive system: heartburn, reflux, regurgitation, diarrhea, constipation, etc.
· Urogenital system: cystitis, urinary urgency, menstrual disorders, pregnancy monitoring, etc.
However, even though osteopathy cannot treat specific conditions (e.g., infection, tumor, fracture, etc.), once a diagnosis has been made, osteopathy can be used alongside medical treatment to address the consequences, particularly certain types of pain, by releasing tension in the surrounding structures and addressing the psychosomatic issues that may result.
For this reason, your osteopath will take the time to ask you questions and examine you carefully in order to determine the right course of treatment. The goal of treatment is to relieve the complaint for which you are seeking consultation as quickly and effectively as possible.
To achieve this goal, the osteopath releases the restrictions on mobility that create dysfunctions within the body's various systems in order to improve function. In some more complex cases, this will consist of an improvement in the frequency and intensity of pain, mobility, or the characteristics of the functional disorder.
CONSULTATION PROCESS:
Osteopathy is not limited to joint manipulation.
In fact, proper treatment involves:
· A complete medical history (questionnaire)
· A clinical examination (medical and/or osteopathic)
· Recognition of clinical presentations identified in other related fields
· Making a differential diagnosis on this basis in order to determine whether to proceed with osteopathic treatment or refer the patient to a physician for further treatment or examination
· Treat conditions and diseases that fall within the scope of osteopathic practice
DEGREES
· Holder of the intercantonal osteopathy diploma recognized at the Swiss level and issued by the CDS (Swiss Conference of Cantonal Health Directors)
· Graduate of the Swiss School of Osteopathy (5 years of full-time training and a minimum of 2 years of assistantship)
