A passion for winegrowing

Today, Michael and Barbara Wetzel-Meier manage the Goldwand vineyard and the vineyards belonging to the local community of Baden. In total, we cultivate 9.2 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Ennetbaden, Obersiggenthal, and Untersiggenthal. In addition to the main variety, Pinot Noir (Blauburgunder), we also grow Garanoir, Diolinoir, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet, Riesling Sylvaner, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.

The steep, terraced Jura slopes with gradients of up to 80% allow for high-quality winegrowing thanks to optimal sunlight exposure.

Integrated production (IP) not only protects nature, but also guarantees healthy and fertile soil for the future, which the vines need to thrive.

In concrete terms, this means minimal use of chemical additives, limited to easily degradable products, and plant nutrition based largely on organic fertilizers. Our business has been consistently guided by these ecological principles for over 30 years.
