to Grindelwald, a paradise in the Bernese Alps at the foot of the world-famous Eiger North Face. Enjoy your stay with your loved ones in our traditional hotel, now in its fourth generation. There is something for everyone here, whether it's a drink on our terraces or in our wellness area with sauna and steam bath.
 

Wellness in the glacier garden

Relax in our wellness area after a strenuous day of skiing or hiking. We have a steam bath, a sauna, and a cozy relaxation room where you can unwind. The wellness area is located in the basement of the hotel, which you can easily reach by elevator. When renovating the wellness area, we placed great emphasis on natural materials, using oak and Swiss stone pine wood from the region. The sauna and steam bath are nude areas and therefore only accessible to adults. Bathrobes and slippers can be rented on request for a small fee.

Summer in Grindelwald is beautiful, romantic, and offers an almost endless array of things to enjoy during your well-deserved vacation.

Hiking
Grindelwald is a true paradise for hikers. On approximately 300 km of well-maintained hiking trails, you can marvel at the unique mountain world of Grindelwald and feel the power of nature around you. The First hiking area, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel to the valley station, offers classic hikes such as First-Bachalpsee-Faulhorn-Bussalp or First-Schwarzhorn-Grosse Scheidegg. First also offers an alpine playground on Bort, the First Flieger from First to Schreckfeld, and trottibikes from Bort to Grindelwald. There is probably no other place in the world where you can hike in such magical surroundings.

Hiking in Grindelwald

Jungfraujoch
The Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, is an attraction that should not be missed. Take the Wengernalp Railway from Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg and from there the Jungfrau Railway through the Eiger to the Jungfraujoch at 3471m above sea level with a fantastic view of the Aletsch Glacier and the entire UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Winter

Grindelwald, a ski resort with centuries of tradition, offers something for all snow and winter lovers.

Skiing
Grindelwald's network of slopes offers plenty of opportunities to let off steam on runs of all levels of difficulty. There are three different ski areas to choose from: First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen, and Mürren-Schilthorn, which together offer a good 215 kilometers of slopes. All ski passes can be purchased directly from us at reception.

Grindelwald-First
This ski area is the sunniest of all and offers a good 60 kilometers of well-groomed slopes, fantastic mountain views of the famous Bernese Alps, and the "White Elements" snow park with kickers, rails, boxes, and a halfpipe. In winter, when there is enough snow, you can practically ski right up to our hotel.
