Whether vaulted, star-shaped, or gabled, your carpenter can make almost any design wish come true. State-of-the-art connection techniques allow for more design freedom than ever before. Wood has proven itself as a building material for centuries. Schulthess Holzbau AG is your expert for durable, weatherproof constructions, so you know what you're getting. A wooden roof truss is also an environmentally friendly solution for the future, because only wood is renewable.
Building facades
Wood, with its natural charm, blends in perfectly with its surroundings and is an expression of a genuine connection with nature. Facade insulation is easy and you also benefit from a favorable climate right from the start. Wood has proven itself very well against wind and weather. Wood is the safe choice, so you don't need to study material tests or material test marks.
Interior
We know how to achieve the desired thermal and sound insulation values with wood. Thousands of tiny air bubbles in the microstructure ensure the excellent insulation properties of wood as an organic building material. Natural wood, whether untreated, stained, or painted, creates an incomparable living atmosphere. Its pleasant scent and moisture-regulating properties are reasons for a special climate in your living space. The carpenter's preference is to coordinate and design floors, walls, ceilings, and doors. The result is a convincing interior design with a pleasant living atmosphere.
Floor grating in massaranduba
The balata tree is a slow-growing, evergreen deciduous tree. It has greenish-yellow to white flowers. It produces berries with a diameter of about 2.5 cm. The berries usually contain only one black seed surrounded by sweet, edible pulp.
This tree provides the wood known as massaranduba, also called balata rouge, beef wood, or horse meat wood. It is a tropical hardwood similar to bankirai. When sourced from Peru, the trade name is quinilla.
The color of the wood is red to reddish brown and very dark. The weight is 1100-1300 kg/cbm. It is used for carpentry, joinery, railroad ties, hydraulic engineering, bridge construction, shipbuilding, furniture, veneer, musical instruments, tools, and sports equipment.
