ZAHO Holzbau AG

History

My grandparents had a small farm on Thüelen in Walterswil. Their seven sons had to help out on the farm from an early age, but also in the "Stören Zimmerei" carpentry workshop, which their grandfather ran as a sideline to supplement his income. As the young boys grew up, they took on more and more of the work in their father's carpentry workshop. Later, they bought a building in Ursenbach and together founded Gebr. Zaugg, Zimmerei, Ursenbach. They ran this company as a family business, hired an accountant/managing director and a few employees, and continued to run the business throughout World War II until they parted ways with their accountant and managing director in the early 1950s. From then on, each of them became self-employed in the fields of carpentry, joinery, and sawmilling. My father, Christian Zaugg, remained in Ursenbach and ran his carpentry business as a sole proprietorship until 1982. In that year, three of his sons, Kurt, Andreas (that's me), and Niklaus Zaugg, took over the carpentry business and converted it into ZAHO Holzbau AG. In the years that followed, Kurt left the company first, followed by Niklaus Zaugg during the economic crisis. In 1993, I shut down ZAHO Holzbau AG and continued to run the carpentry business as a sole proprietorship. In 1998, I liquidated ZAHO Holzbau AG and deleted it from the commercial register. In 2001, my son Oliver, who had completed his apprenticeship as a carpenter and attended foreman school, joined my sole proprietorship. It was 2005 when the sole proprietorship was converted into the collective partnership ZAHO Zaugg + Co. From then on, Oliver took over the management of the carpentry/timber construction division. Now I finally had a little more time to continue developing the furniture I had started in 1996. After 14 years, the resulting ZAHO furniture line is now complete, and on August 12, 2010, I was able to launch our new ZAHO website and the ZAHO shop. Together with the newly designed flyer, the first step in marketing has now been taken.

Under the motto "es bett wo hett"(a bed wherever you are), we present our ZAHO solid wood furniture line, which is manufactured in our own factory. Our product range includes the following bed models:

• Standard bed with headboard and side table or nightstand
• Loft bed and bunk bed " " (cabin bed bunk bed) with matching pull-out bed
• Pull-out bed and pull-out bed "Komfort"
• Pull-out bunk bed (cabin bed) Pull-out bunk bed "Comfort"
• Double pull-out bunk bed and double pull-out bunk bed "Comfort"
• as well as table, chair, stool, and coat rack and coat rack "Object" in matching design.
• Mattresses

Our company specializes in the manufacture of pull-out solid wood beds. We offer two bed pull-out systems that are unique on the market (ZAHO pull-out unit and ZAHO "Comfort" pull-out unit), which allow us to double the lying and sleeping areas in just a few simple steps.
