After obtaining her degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, Dr. Elena Albonico undertook specialist training in Gynecology and Obstetrics, working as an assistant physician in various Swiss hospitals renowned for the number and complexity of clinical cases they treat.

After starting her career at the San Giovanni Hospital in Bellinzona, she then completed most of her training in the Canton of Zurich at the GZO Spital Wetzikon and Stadtspital Triemli Zürich hospitals, acquiring skills in various areas of gynecology and obstetrics.

She attended various nationally and European-recognized theoretical and practical courses and seminars in her field of specialization, as well as specific courses in medical communication.

Returning to the Canton of Ticino, she obtained the federal title of specialist in gynecology and obstetrics after passing her final specialty exam at the Regional Hospital of Lugano.

In 2019, she also obtained the European diploma in colposcopy in Basel.
