A welcoming restaurant with fast service. The Lebanese specialties on offer are delicious, and the staff are very friendly.

The restaurant scene in Ticino is changing, with ethnic cuisine becoming increasingly popular and the locals appreciating the fact that they no longer have to travel abroad to sample dishes from around the world.
Beirut is a great example of this phenomenon. It is located in Paradiso, on a pleasant pedestrian street where several of the restaurant's tables are set up.

The menu is composed as follows: on the one hand, there is a long list of mezze, or tapas-style appetizers, and on the other, there is an extensive list of main courses consisting mainly of grilled fish or meat accompanied by French fries or rice with vegetables and spices.

The main courses are good, but the real gems are among the mezze: we tried tabbouleh (a salad made with parsley and vegetables), traditional Arabic bread, babaganoush (baked eggplant seasoned and spread on bread), falafel, hummus (a kind of chickpea pâté seasoned with oil), and sweet and sour prawns. These were truly wonderful discoveries. In fact, we recommend—as do the restaurant waitresses—having dinner consisting solely of mezze so that you can sample as much of the Lebanese cuisine as possible!

For a full menu consisting of 3-4 mezze, expect to pay between 40 and 60 francs per person.
