When a child is admitted to a daycare center, it is often the first time they are confronted with a new environment without their parents or caregivers. The child will spend a significant part of their everyday life in this "foreign" environment, and for you as parents, this may be your first contact with such an institution. It is a significant step to let go of your child. We are aware that you are entrusting us with your most precious possession! This makes it all the more important to us that we walk this path together, with the aim of accompanying your child gently and lovingly.

About us

The Windrädli nursery in Zurich-Oerlikon opened on December 1, 2000. Our facility has 34 places and offers full-day and part-time care for children aged three months to school age. The youngest children are looked after by an experienced team in an infant group until they reach the age of two. We care for children up to the age of six in two mixed-age groups.

Settling in

The settling-in period is extremely important for the child, the parents, the staff, and the group of children. The first meeting serves as an opportunity to get to know each other. For two to three weeks, a parent or caregiver accompanies the child through part of the daily routine. The times are determined in consultation with the group leader.

First steps

Interested parents can request (or download) the registration form for the waiting list. As soon as a place becomes available, we will contact you to invite you to a detailed initial meeting. After the meeting, you will have the opportunity to visit our facility. After a specified reflection period, your child will be admitted upon signing the care contract and operating regulations. For subsidized places, the SBU (subsidized care scope) and the BF (contribution factor confirmation) are prerequisites for concluding the contract.
