Since 1833, Café Kern in Laufen has stood for quality and craftsmanship. In our bakery, patisserie and confectionery we create fresh bread, butter braids, fine desserts, pralines, truffles and cakes every day – many of them award-winning. We use only natural ingredients, preferably from regional suppliers, and real butter for authentic taste. In our café-restaurant we serve seasonal dishes, varied daily menus and homemade specialties. For weddings, parties and events we offer buffets, aperitifs and personalized cakes. In summer, our ice cream cart is a highlight for guests.

The late-Baroque Villa Berower is located in the Fondation Beyeler’s magnificent park, straight across from the museum building, and is home to the «Beyeler Restaurant im Park» Drawing on the wealth of delicacies to be found nearby, regional and seasonal ingredients are at the heart of the restaurant’s culinary offerings. The menu allows guests to sample old and new favourites. Barista-quality coffee can be enjoyed with a wide choice of cakes. The wine list gives pride of place to regional producers as well as featuring a fine worldwide selection. In the dining room and the fireplace lounge ( Kaminzimmer ), Spanish duo Casa Munõz’ design establishes a stimulating dialogue between the building’s historical character and the interior decor’s contemporary flair. In summer, the large terrace nestling in the park and looking out onto sculptures by Calder, Kelly and Fischli / Weiss invites you to pause and linger.

Wir waren am Ostersamstag zum Lunch im Berg 699. Sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung, ausgezeichnetes Essen (Cordon-Bleu) und sehr leckere Dessertauswahl, Cremeschnitte, Torte della Nonne, Linzertorte und Schwarzwäldertorte, alle hausgemacht. Leider haben wir wieder kein Kamel gesehen :-). Aber wir kommen wieder, keine Frage.
