Verena's Boutique Villa au Lac can accommodate up to 12 guests. The house is an ideal holiday destination for families, small groups and corporate events alike. The guest villa has two different living areas, one of which is grouped around the charming tiled stove and furnished with a cosy armchair and comfortable sofa. The hostess enjoys spoiling her guests with culinary delights, including an inviting breakfast buffet, an aperitif or a multi-course dinner. The location Sachseln is located halfway between Lucerne and Interlaken, on Lake Sarnen, which is nestled between unspoilt slopes and snow-capped mountains. The Sarneraa Valley stretches from the Brünig Pass to Lopper on Lake Lucerne. In terms of transport, it is connected to the national motorway network (A8) and the railway network (e.g. Zentralbahn). The surroundings Verena's Boutique Villa au Lac is located next to Sachseln railway station. A small park surrounds the stately house. Right next to the house is a public car park (subject to a charge), a charging station for electric cars, a Mobility car-sharing vehicle and the landing stage for the MS Seestern. A public sunbathing/swimming area by the lake is 100 metres away, and shops can be found on Bahnhofstrasse and at the village square within walking distance. The guest house This stately house with almost 100 years of history offers all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. It was completely renovated and refurbished in 2019. Upon entering, your gaze is drawn to the historic wooden staircase, which connects all floors of the house. The breakfast and lounge area is located on the mezzanine floor and has access to the garden. The two floors above contain six guest rooms with two spacious bathrooms and an additional guest WC. The library with access to the balcony offers privacy for working, reading or simply relaxing. The basement houses the home cinema and the house bar with chilled drinks and snacks. A small conference room with state-of-the-art presentation technology is available for meetings, workshops or corporate events. The gazebo complements the offer, allowing guests to enjoy breakfast during the warm season or read a book in the pleasant shade.

With us, the atmosphere is simple, warm, and authentic — a bookshop “like when you were young,” with a reading corner to settle in, a children’s area to browse peacefully, and personalized advice to help you leave with the right book. In August 2022 , we began a new chapter: Laure Paccaud , a Rolloise who returned after ten years abroad, took over the bookshop of her childhood. The adventure continues with family and our team, in the same spirit: closeness, curiosity, and the desire to share books that make you feel alive. Our mission today is the same as yesterday: to be a human-scale , responsive, welcoming bookstore, able to combine major new releases with unexpected discoveries.
