Welcome to the Hard of Hearing Association of Northwestern Switzerland The Hard of Hearing Association of Northwestern Switzerland is a non-profit organisation for people with a hearing impairment and their carers with around 300 members. Its aim is to better integrate people with a hearing impairment into society and thus improve their quality of life. Services The Hard of Hearing Association of Northwestern Switzerland is a contact point for people with a hearing impairment, their carers and professionals. Courses & events The Hard of Hearing Association of Northwestern Switzerland organises a wide range of events. These include, in particular, hearing training courses with lip reading, memory training workshops, as well as specially organised excursions, lectures and social events.

In familiar shared homes, we promote independence, daily-life skills and quality of life—365 days a year with mindful support. Our work programs offer sheltered jobs in industry, housekeeping, kitchen, logistics and technical services, complemented by structured day programs and creative workshops. Through training and education (e.g., PrA), we strengthen personal development and participation. Donations help fund assistive resources, improved infrastructure and meaningful holiday and activity camps.

The basic practical training lasts 12 hours and consists of modules 1-2-3, which must be completed in chronological order. Those who obtained the A1 license (before 01/01/2021) and wish to obtain the A 35 kW license must complete the training by only performing module 3 (4 hours). Candidates for the A 35 kW license cannot complete the basic practical training with vehicles of the A1 subcategory. Direct access to the unlimited A category is no longer possible, and one must wait 2 years from obtaining the A 35 kW category.
