Fromagerie de Prayoud

We are a village cheese dairy that mainly produces Gruyère AOP, Gruyère Bio AOP, Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP, and Vacherin Fribourgeois Bio AOP.

The excellent milk we process comes from producers belonging to the Châtel-St-Denis dairy cooperative. These farmers work in accordance with tradition and with respect for nature. Between them, they have around 500 cows grazing in the region, enabling us to produce around 10,000 wheels of Gruyère AOP and 3,000 wheels of Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP.

So our homemade products are 100% Châtel-St-Denis guaranteed ;-)

We also have a shop next to the production facility where you can buy our Gruyères, Vacherin, as well as our specialties: cow's milk tommes, sérac, homemade fondue mixes, 100% Vacherin fondue, and our homemade organic yogurts. A range of Swiss cheeses, selected with passion, complete our display to delight your taste buds! We also have a grocery section, selling sausages, meat, and bread from local artisans, as we want to source our products as locally as possible to guarantee quality, short supply chains, and maximum fairness.
