La Maison de Tara offers an alternative to hospitalization for people at the end of their lives who wish to experience this key moment in a warm, non-medicalized atmosphere.
La Maison
A secular, non-profit foundation recognized as being of public utility, La Maison de Tara opened its doors in 2011 thanks to the support of local communities—in particular that of Chêne-Bougeries—and generous donors.
Our vision is that everyone should be able to live out their final days with humanity and dignity. We believe in the importance of training those who are called upon to accompany a loved one with a chronic illness, disability, or at the end of life.
We believe in the importance of the group and of end-of-life care within the community, as was long the case until the advent of medicalization.
Admissions
La Maison de Tara offers four fully equipped and comfortable rooms, as well as a beautiful garden large enough to walk around in.
La Maison de Tara welcomes residents of all ages and nationalities who meet certain criteria.
All admission requests are subject to a comprehensive assessment by La Maison de Tara, in consultation with the resident and their doctor or healthcare institution.
The relatives of our residents are welcome at La Maison de Tara. Invited to get involved in supporting the resident, they benefit from the active support of volunteers and professionals at the home.
