EXIT ADMD Suisse romande

The EXIT movement for the right to die with dignity was founded in England in 1935. It quickly spread to other countries and continents and now has around 50 associations with nearly one million members and supporters.

Our association, EXIT ADMD Suisse romande, often referred to as "EXIT" or "EXIT Suisse romande," was founded in Geneva by around 20 people in 1982.

Our primary goal is to fight against excessive medical treatment and to ensure that patients' rights are recognized by demanding, through their advance directives, that their wishes and choices regarding their death be respected.

Many parents and loved ones have been denied the right to die in the final stages of a difficult illness or at the end of a long life, even though they had made a clear decision to do so. They have sometimes been kept alive in undignified conditions that they would previously have categorically refused.

We do not want to suffer such a fate, nor do we want to see it inflicted on our loved ones, which is why we want to offer assistance in dying when life circumstances justify it.

In compliance with the laws in force and supported by the majority of the Swiss population, the association EXIT ADMD Suisse romande therefore defends:

The right of everyone to choose how they want to live the last stages of their life.
The right of the sick person to be in control of the final stages of their illness.
The right to a dignified and humane death.
