Our region is distinguished by its outstanding natural qualities and the incredible diversity of its subsoil. Gravel, sand, clay, marl, molasse, limestone, and puddingstone alternate in Lavaux, giving the wines of each appellation their own specific character.

Winegrowers can count on the valuable help of the three suns of Lavaux. The steep slopes improve the vines' exposure to sunlight, the lake acts as a mirror, and the walls store heat.
