You are not born a winemaker, but you become one through hard work and conviction. This could be the perfect way to introduce SERGE ANTILLE – an instinctive winemaker and cellar master – whose earliest memories of wine are linked to his father Abel. Having never attended wine school, but trained solely in the field, Serge has mastered the work of the vineyard, essential to the success of a high-quality wine, with passion and determination. Starting with pruning, then debudding... right up to harvesting the grapes at full maturity. As Serge so aptly points out, you also need to know how to talk to the vines to make a joyful and generous wine.
The Clos des Cyprès winery, founded in 1999, offers a variety of white, red, and rosé grape varieties from Valais, which Serge will be happy to introduce you to in his carnotzet in Veyras or at the Domaine des Maladaires, which he has been running since 2016 near Sion.
