Your event
Restaurant
On November 1, 2020, Filipe Almeida, who had been employed as head chef and creative director since November 2014, and Jesus Costoya, who joined the team as chef de service in January 2018, took over the Rössli restaurant.
Our goal is to offer our guests an unforgettable experience at the Rössli with a lot of love, passion, and dedication.
History
When you look at the beautiful old half-timbered house from the 16th century in the center of the village of Zollikon, you can feel the long history that this venerable building exudes.
The tavern project was approved in 1557. The municipality granted a loan of 90 pounds. In 1562, the Rössli was inaugurated.
Apart from the church, the Rössli was the only public building. The Rössli journeymen's house not only provided food and drink for journeymen craftsmen, it was also the center of village life. For hundreds of years, it was the social hub of Zollikon and was used as a hostel for travelers, a village pub, and a meeting place for the court and the community.
In 1955, the Rössli restaurant underwent renovation of the restaurant and kitchen, and in 2007 it was refurbished and completely rebuilt, followed by a reopening.
In 1995, the Alt Zollikon Citizens' Association (BVAZ) acquired the building.
Even today, you can still feel in these beautiful old rooms that generations of families and many guests have always enjoyed visiting the Rössli!
