The Bellinzona Association for Home Care and Assistance (ABAD) is a private law entity pursuant to Articles 60 and following of the Swiss Civil Code. The Association is non-denominational, apolitical, and non-profit. MISSION In accordance with the Home Care and Assistance Act (LACD), ABAD is recognized by the Council of State and aims to promote and enable people of all ages living in the Bellinzona region to remain in their homes when facing: illness, accident, disability, maternity, old age, or socio-family difficulties, by providing the necessary individualized services. The service consists of a coordinated set of socio-assistance and healthcare services with preventive and rehabilitative characteristics. Care services for minors are provided by GIIPSI (Interregional Group of Pediatric Nurses of Italian-speaking Switzerland), which ABAD supports. Objectives and services offered: offer individuals the opportunity to receive care and prescribed treatment at home, with the aim of maintaining and/or restoring their health condition as much as possible; provide temporary or long-term practical assistance in managing household tasks for individuals who are no longer fully independent due to socio-health reasons; ensure continuity of care, making it possible to return home after hospitalization and reducing the frequency or duration of stays in residential facilities; help sick or elderly individuals live their situation in the best possible way, providing support to those close to them (see family caregivers); inform and activate other resources available in the area (coordination role – see “One for all, all for one”); support and assist in organizing daily life, also encouraging social interaction (see Social Care Coordinators); contribute to promoting and maintaining the population’s health, particularly through preventive measures and counseling.

HOURS AND MODES OF INTERVENTION SPITEX Tre Valli operates 7/7 and 24h/24 (during the night in collaboration with Tre Valli Rescue).
