Traffic Awareness Course The traffic awareness course is a mandatory 8-hour programme focusing on road traffic risks , accident prevention and responsible behaviour on the road . This course is required to obtain a driving licence and cannot be taken without a learner driver licence . Driving Theory Course The driving theory training prepares you efficiently for the official theory exam . Once you pass the exam, the Road Traffic Authority issues the learner driver licence , valid for 2 years , allowing you to start practical driving lessons .
