We now work with digital X-rays. Digital X-ray technology offers great advantages in terms of workflow—in the past, X-ray images had to be developed after they were taken. Thanks to the latest technology, the images are available immediately and can be digitally edited at the workstation, saving the patient from having to repeat the X-ray. In addition, chemicals are no longer required for film development. Last but not least, digital images usually require less radiation, depending on the equipment, which means that you as a patient are exposed to a lower dose.
