Sommentier Cheese Factory
Shortly after the former cheesemaker retired, the cheese factory was taken over in January 2025 by two partners who are dedicated and passionate about their craft. Their goal is to give new impetus to the Sommentier cheese dairy, combining modernity and tradition to enhance Fribourg's expertise.
Our must-try specialty: "Le Petit Glânois." This full-fat, semi-hard cheese made from raw milk is produced exclusively at our facility. It is aged in white wine for six weeks, giving it an incomparable flavor and perfect texture. The cheese comes in several varieties depending on the season.
